The Zero Point Mug Cake is the ultimate quick and guilt-free dessert for those following a weight-conscious program like WW (formerly Weight Watchers). This single-serving, microwave mug cake is made with just a few simple ingredients, including banana, egg, and vanilla, offering a moist and comforting treat with zero points. It’s the perfect sweet snack when you’re craving something indulgent without the calories.

Ingredients

1 medium ripe banana (mashed)

1 large egg

¼ tsp baking powder (optional – for fluffier texture)

½ tsp vanilla extract

Dash of cinnamon or pumpkin spice (optional)

Optional toppings: fat-free whipped cream, berries, or a sprinkle of cocoa powder (note: chocolate chips or syrup will add points)

Instructions

  • Prepare the mug: Choose a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 12 oz. Lightly spray the inside with non-stick spray or use a bit of butter to prevent sticking.

  • Mix the ingredients: In the mug, mash the ripe banana until smooth. Add the egg, baking powder (if using), vanilla extract, and your choice of spices (cinnamon or pumpkin spice). Stir well until all ingredients are fully combined into a smooth batter.

  • Microwave: Microwave the mug on high for about 1 minute and 30 seconds. Keep an eye on it and adjust time in 10-second intervals, as microwaves vary. The cake should rise and firm up in the middle.

  • Add toppings: Once cooked, let the mug cake cool slightly. Add optional toppings like fat-free whipped cream, fresh berries, or cocoa powder. If you’re adding chocolate chips or syrup, remember these will add points.

  • Serve: Enjoy the mug cake directly from the mug, or transfer it to a plate for a fancier presentation.

Notes

Storage: Best enjoyed fresh. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1-2 days. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.

Customization: Experiment with different spices, toppings, or add-ins like sugar-free chocolate chips, nuts, or peanut butter (note: these will alter the point value).
