Hearty burritos filled with seasoned ground beef, creamy refried beans, and melty Colby-Monterey Jack cheese, wrapped in warm flour tortillas for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 envelope taco seasoning

1 can (16 ounces) refried beans

6 flour tortillas (12 inches), warmed

1 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

4 teaspoons canola oil

Sour cream, for serving

Salsa, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 teaspoons canola oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Sprinkle taco seasoning over the beef and add 1/4 cup water. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Warm refried beans in a small skillet or microwave until spreadable.
  4. Warm tortillas until pliable.
  5. Assemble burritos: spread refried beans, top with beef and cheese, fold sides and roll tightly.
  6. Heat remaining 2 teaspoons canola oil in a skillet. Place burritos seam-side down and cook 1–2 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
  7. Serve with sour cream and salsa.

Notes

Swap ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat.

Add sautéed onions, peppers, or corn for extra flavor.

Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions.

Make spicy with jalapeños or hot sauce.

Use whole wheat or low-carb tortillas for a healthier twist.

Store leftovers in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
