Sausage and Cheese Mini Wontons are crispy, bite-sized appetizers filled with savory ground sausage, sharp cheddar, Parmesan cheese, and fresh green onions. These easy-to-make wontons bake or fry quickly, delivering a perfect crunchy texture with a rich, cheesy filling—ideal for parties, snacks, or game day treats.
½ pound ground sausage
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup finely chopped green onions
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
¼ teaspoon black pepper
24 wonton wrappers
1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking.
Cook ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat and let cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, green onions, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper; mix well.
Place one wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the sausage mixture into the center.
Moisten edges of the wrapper with water, fold over to form a triangle or pouch, and press edges firmly to seal.
Arrange wontons on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush tops lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
Bake 10–12 minutes until golden and crispy, or fry in 350°F (175°C) oil for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Add minced garlic or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
Use mozzarella-cheddar blend for a different cheese profile.
Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
Try sweet chili sauce, ranch, or spicy mustard for dipping.
Make vegetarian by swapping sausage with seasoned mushrooms or plant-based sausage.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven for crispiness. Avoid microwaving.
