Mummy Stromboli is a festive Halloween twist on classic stromboli. Layers of pepperoni, salami, provolone, and mozzarella are wrapped in pizza dough, baked golden, and decorated with mummy bandages and candy eyeballs. Perfect for parties or themed family dinners.

Ingredients

27.6 ounces refrigerated pizza dough (about 2 cans)

¼ pound pepperoni

¼ pound hard salami

9 slices provolone cheese

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers

⅓ cup grated Parmesan

2 tablespoons salted butter, melted

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Black food coloring

2 candy, googly, or toy eyeballs

Marinara or pizza sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a 12×16-inch rectangle.
  3. Layer pepperoni, salami, provolone, mozzarella, and pepperoncini down the center, leaving edges clear. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  4. Fold long sides over filling, tuck in ends, and roll gently to seal, forming a mummy shape.
  5. Cut small strips along the top to resemble mummy bandages. Lift and twist some strips for realism.
  6. Brush melted butter over dough and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Add black food coloring lines after baking to enhance mummy look. Place candy or toy eyeballs in open area for face.
  9. Serve warm with marinara or pizza sauce.

Notes

Add cooked sausage or other favorite deli meats for extra flavor.

Swap provolone for mozzarella or fontina for a different cheese blend.

Use sliced olives or bell peppers for additional spooky decorations.

Drizzle with hot sauce or pesto instead of black food coloring for variation.

Store leftovers in airtight container in refrigerator up to 3 days; reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes.
