Lemon Basil Salmon Rolls are a fresh and flavorful dish, combining tender salmon with a creamy filling of cream cheese, fresh basil, and zesty lemon. Wrapped in your choice of tortilla, rice paper, or cucumber slices, these rolls are easy to make, light, and perfect for a quick appetizer or meal. Serve them chilled for a refreshing treat!

Ingredients

For the filling:

1 cup cooked salmon

¼ cup cream cheese

2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare the filling: Flake the cooked salmon into small pieces. In a medium bowl, combine the salmon, cream cheese, fresh basil, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  • Assemble the rolls: Lay out your wrap of choice (tortilla, rice paper, or cucumber slices). Spread a generous portion of the salmon mixture over the wrap, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll tightly, enclosing the filling. For tortillas, slice them into bite-sized pinwheels.

  • Chill (optional): For easier slicing and better texture, wrap the rolls in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

  • Serve: Slice the rolls into bite-sized pieces and serve immediately, or enjoy them chilled for a refreshing appetizer or light meal.

Notes

Substitutes: You can use canned salmon, tuna, or shrimp instead of fresh salmon. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.

Vegetable Add-ins: Add chopped cucumber, spinach, or avocado to the filling for extra texture and flavor.

Dairy-Free Option: Substitute the cream cheese with vegan cream cheese or Greek yogurt for a tangy twist.
