Brownies:
1 box brownie mix (unprepared)
1 egg
5½ tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
French Silk Layer:
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
8 ounces Cool Whip
Topping:
8 ounces Cool Whip
Chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips
Preheat oven as directed on brownie mix box. Prepare brownie batter substituting melted butter and milk as wet ingredients; add egg and mix well.
Pour batter into greased or parchment-lined pan; bake as per box instructions. Cool completely.
Melt semi-sweet chocolate and butter until smooth; cool slightly.
Beat cream cheese and vanilla until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and beat until combined.
Slowly beat in cooled chocolate mixture until smooth.
