Easy Mummy Pretzel Dogs are a fun and spooky snack for Halloween. Fluffy pizza-dough-wrapped hot dogs get a pretzel-like boil and golden bake, then come to life with candy eyeballs for adorable mummy treats. Perfect for parties, family gatherings, or classroom snacks.

Ingredients

13.8-ounce can of pizza dough

8 bun-length hot dogs

4 quarts water

⅔ cup baking soda

2 tablespoons salted butter, melted

16 candy eyeballs

Mustard for serving

Ketchup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Bring water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
  3. Divide pizza dough into 8 equal portions and roll each into a 12-inch rope.
  4. Wrap each hot dog with dough, leaving a small space for the ‘face.’
  5. Dip each wrapped hot dog into boiling water for 30–60 seconds, then place on baking sheet.
  6. Brush melted butter over the dough-wrapped hot dogs.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Press candy eyeballs into exposed dough area for eyes.
  9. Serve warm with mustard and ketchup.

Use mini hot dogs for bite-sized mummy treats.

Swap candy eyeballs for mustard, ketchup, or chocolate chips for eyes.

Sprinkle dough with sesame seeds or coarse salt before baking for extra texture.
