Easy Homemade Blackberry Limeade is a refreshing, vibrant beverage that balances the sweetness of blackberries with the tang of fresh lime juice. Ingredients

For the Blackberry Syrup:

2 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)

1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar

1 cup water

1/2 cup fresh mint leaves (up to 1 cup for a stronger mint flavor)

For the Blackberry Limeade:

1 batch blackberry syrup (prepared above)

34 cups ice cubes

1 1/2 cups fresh lime juice (1214 large limes)

23 cups cold water or sparkling water

Optional Garnishes:

Fresh or frozen blackberries

Lime slices

Fresh mint

Pretty ice cubes

Instructions

For the Blackberry Syrup:

  1. In a saucepan, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, and water.

  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Bring to a simmer, cooking for 10-15 minutes, mashing blackberries as they soften.

  4. Add fresh mint and simmer for another 5 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool for 10-15 minutes.

  6. Strain syrup to remove solids and store in a jar or bottle in the refrigerator for up to a week.

For the Blackberry Limeade:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine lime juice and blackberry syrup.

  2. Add ice cubes and stir to combine.

  3. Pour in cold or sparkling water, adjusting the fizz and dilution to taste.

  4. Stir well and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more syrup or lime juice.

  5. Pour into glasses filled with ice and garnish with blackberries, lime slices, or mint.

  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
