Easy Crockpot Chicken & Gravy is a simple, comforting dish featuring tender chicken in a rich, creamy gravy. Perfect for busy weeknights, it’s a set-it-and-forget-it meal that’s served over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Ingredients

23 large boneless chicken breasts (approximately 1.5 pounds)

2 packets chicken gravy mix

1 (10.5oz) can cream of chicken soup

1 1/2 cups water

1/2 cup sour cream

Pepper and garlic powder to taste

Mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, water, sour cream, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks and stir the gravy.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop, adding a little water or chicken broth if the gravy thickens too much.

If you prefer, substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt or cream cheese for a similar creamy texture.

This recipe can also be made in the Instant Pot by cooking on high pressure for 10-12 minutes, then using the natural release method.
