Cheeseburger Meatloaf is a delicious twist on the classic meatloaf, combining the flavors of a cheeseburger with tender ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and a tangy chili-barbecue sauce. It’s a comforting, cheesy dish everyone will love!

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

1/4 cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

1 egg

3/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon ground pepper

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons chili sauce

2 tablespoons barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs (or crushed crackers), chopped red onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased or lined baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the chili sauce and barbecue sauce together.
  6. Spread the sauce mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Add a teaspoon of hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.

If you prefer a different cheese, try mozzarella, gouda, or pepper jack for varied flavors.

Make the meatloaf mini-sized by shaping the mixture into small loaves or meatballs for quicker cooking time.
