Ingredients

½ cup prepared tapioca pearls (boba)

68 ounces freshly brewed black tea

23 tablespoons simple syrup or sweetener of choice, to taste

¼ cup whole milk, half-and-half, or creamer (optional)

1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tapioca pearls according to package instructions and let them cool slightly.
  2. 6-8 ounces of strong black tea and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  3. In a tall glass, add the cooked boba pearls.
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour in the tea, followed by simple syrup or preferred sweetener. Stir well.
  6. Add milk, half-and-half, or creamer if desired for a richer flavor.
  7. Insert a wide straw and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use green tea, jasmine tea, or oolong tea instead of black tea for a different flavor.

Add flavored syrups like mango, lychee, or strawberry for a fruity version.

Use almond, oat, or coconut milk for a dairy-free option.

Adjust sweetness by adding more or less syrup.

Blend with ice for a slushie-style boba tea.

Store cooked tapioca pearls in sugar syrup at room temperature for up to 4 hours.

Brewed tea can be refrigerated for up to 2 days before assembling the drink.
