Perfect for family dinners, this comforting meal is easy to prepare and deliciously satisfying.
12 jumbo pasta shells
1 lb ground beef
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook jumbo pasta shells according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until cooked through; drain excess fat.
In a large bowl, combine cooked beef, ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, half the mozzarella, and half the Parmesan. Mix well.
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
Stuff each pasta shell with the beef and ricotta mixture and arrange in the baking dish.
Pour remaining marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells.
Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
Cover dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Swap ground beef for ground turkey or Italian sausage for flavor variations.
Add sautéed spinach or mushrooms into the filling for extra veggies.
Try Italian cheese blends like provolone or fontina for richness.
Fresh herbs like basil or parsley add brightness.
Crushed red pepper flakes give a spicy kick.
