Baked Apples and Pears with Cranberries and Pecans is a warm, festive dessert featuring tender apples and pears roasted with tart cranberries, crunchy pecans, and sweet maple syrup. Lightly spiced with cinnamon, this naturally sweet dish is perfect for cozy evenings or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter

2 medium firm pears

2 medium apples

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup fresh cranberries

1 cup whole or halved pecans

½ cup pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with coconut oil or butter.
  2. Core and slice the apples and pears into wedges or chunks. Place them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the fruit with ground cinnamon and toss gently to coat.
  4. Add cranberries and pecans on top of the fruit mixture. Drizzle with maple syrup.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes, until the fruit is tender and lightly caramelized.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, serve warm with vanilla ice cream, yogurt, or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Substitute walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts for pecans.

Add a splash of orange juice or zest for extra brightness.

Mix in dried cranberries or raisins if fresh cranberries aren’t available.

Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top for extra caramelization.

Use honey instead of maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
