A creamy, nostalgic dessert-salad made with whipped cream, yogurt, coconut, fruit, and marshmallows. Ambrosia salad is a classic favorite for holidays, potlucks, and family gatherings.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt

1 cup shredded sweetened coconut

1 (11 oz) can mandarin oranges, drained

1 (8 oz) can pineapple tidbits, drained

1 cup maraschino cherries, drained

1 1/2 cups mini fruit-flavored marshmallows

Optional: chopped pecans, sliced bananas, chopped apples

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  2. Fold in the Greek yogurt until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently stir in the shredded coconut, mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, cherries, and marshmallows.
  4. If desired, mix in optional add-ins such as pecans, bananas, or apples.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors blend.

Notes

Swap Greek yogurt for sour cream for a traditional flavor.

Use different fruits like grapes, peaches, or strawberries.

Add crushed pecans, walnuts, or mini chocolate chips for variety.

Fresh cherries can be used instead of maraschino for less sweetness.

Best served chilled and within 3 days of preparation.
