Delicious and easy Air Fryer Lobster Tails with a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a quick elegant seafood meal. This recipe features thawed lobster tails cooked to perfection in the air fryer and served with a flavorful garlic butter sauce enhanced with herbs and lemon juice.

Ingredients

Lobster Tails

  • 4 frozen lobster tails, thawed

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed or minced
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lobster Tails: Using kitchen shears, carefully cut through the top shell of each thawed lobster tail from the open end down to the base, stopping before the tail fin. Gently lift the meat out from the shell, keeping it attached at the base, and rest the meat on top of the shell for even cooking.
  2. Make Garlic Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the pressed garlic, dried parsley, dried thyme, and lemon juice. Stir gently and let the flavors infuse for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and let it preheat for about 3-5 minutes for optimal cooking temperature.
  4. Air Fry Lobster Tails: Place the lobster tails meat side up in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap. Air fry for 8-10 minutes until the meat is opaque and firm to the touch, brushing some of the garlic butter sauce on top halfway through the cooking time.
  5. Serve: Once cooked, remove lobster tails from the air fryer, brush with remaining garlic butter sauce, and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt to taste. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Make sure lobster tails are fully thawed before cooking for even results.
  • You can customize the garlic butter sauce by adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Cooking times may vary depending on the size of the lobster tails and air fryer brand.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor.
  • Keep a close eye during cooking to avoid overcooking which can make lobster rubbery.
