4 salmon filets (about 6 ounces each)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil OR avocado oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed or bottled)
1½ teaspoons kosher salt OR sea salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels, ensuring no excess moisture.
Brush the salmon filets with the olive oil mixture on both sides.
Place the salmon filets in the air fryer basket, skin side down if the skin is on.
Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and flakes easily with a fork.
Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Herb Variation: Swap Italian seasoning for fresh/dried thyme, rosemary, or dill.
Spicy Version: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for a kick.
Lemon Zest: Sprinkle freshly grated lemon zest over the salmon for more lemon flavor.
