1½ cups (190 g) self-raising flour

1 cup (250 ml) Greek yogurt

Oil for frying

Cinnamon Sugar:

¼ cup (50 g) white granulated sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine self-raising flour and Greek yogurt in a bowl until a soft dough forms.

  2. Lightly flour surface and knead dough a few times until smooth.

  3. Roll dough to ½-inch thickness.

  4. Cut out donut shapes with a donut cutter or two round cutters. Reroll scraps as needed.

  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry donuts in batches, 1-2 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

  6. Drain donuts on paper towels.

  7. Toss warm donuts in cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.

Notes

Use flavored Greek yogurt for variety.

Dust with powdered sugar or glaze instead of cinnamon sugar if preferred.

Add nutmeg or cloves to cinnamon sugar for spice.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes for a lighter version.

Serve with fresh fruit or dipping sauces.
